Civil Litigation

Our Attorneys are Highly Respected Advocates

At Rusconi, Foster & Thomas, we approach litigation with fierce and determined advocacy while keeping your goals in mind. We are dedicated to giving our clients professional and practical advice when it comes to civil litigation. When determining whether civil litigation is appropriate, we give you our unbiased and independent judgment on how best to approach your specific dispute.
We are able to effectively represent our clients and maintain an excellent reputation in our community because of the high standards of professionalism we maintain when litigating. Some of the limited areas of civil litigation in which we proudly represent clients include:
  • Landlord disputes
  • Tenant evictions
  • Contract disputes
  • Lease disputes
  • Real property
  • Land use

Alternative Civil Dispute Resolution

Sometimes, civil legal issues can be resolved through alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation or negotiation. If mediation or negotiation could benefit you, our attorneys have extensive experience in mediating and negotiating that can help you reach a mutually beneficial settlement agreement.
If alternative dispute resolution does not work, our attorneys excel at client advocacy in the courtroom. With years of experience, our attorneys are extremely knowledgeable about the subtleties and nuances of civil litigation. This knowledge gives us the edge as we zealously represent your interests.

Frequently Asked Questions About Civil Litigation

Q: What is an unlawful detainer?
A:  An unlawful detainer is the process of a landlord evicting a tenant from the premises to regain possession. Our firm has years of experience in unlawful detainer actions. We provide services for all stages of an unlawful detainer action, from preparing notices to litigation, if necessary.
Q: do you defend against landlord evictions?
A: Our firm only files unlawful detainer actions on behalf of a landlord.
Q: Do you do personal injury or insurance litigation?
A:  Our firm does not represent clients in personal injury or insurance litigation.
Q: What types of civil litigation do you do?
A: Our firm provides exceptional litigation services focusing on real property disputes, trust and estate disputes, and contract or lease disputes.

Q: What if I can't afford a lawsuit in court?
A: The court is not always the best answer to a civil dispute and, in some circumstances, it is better to avoid a costly and lengthy court battle. Instead, alternatives like mediation might be more appropriate to solve a dispute. As part of our firm's zealous advocacy for clients in court proceedings, we apply that same level of zealous advocacy of clients during the mediation process.
